Greater air–ground integration will require solid, safe and secure means of communication and networking to transform the current way to communicate. From gate to gate, air-to-ground automation will ensure the use of automatic selection of the link for and frequency of communications by the pilot and ATC.
This panel will explore the following:
• How can European skies avoid the predicted capacity crunch and make aviation fit for the digital future?
• What options are already on the table thanks to SESAR research and innovation on future air-ground connectivity?
• What needs to be considered when rolling out the future connectivity infrastructure to support aviation applications (ATC, U-space and HAO) in the context of the European ATM Master Plan?
