For years, environmental leaders in NATS have worked tirelessly to embed sustainability in every aspect of our business, from cultural change programmes to the development of 3Di, our simple and innovative measurement of the influence of air traffic control on a flight’s fuel burn and emissions.

Over time, we’ve developed several tools to put the metrics that matter in the hands of our experts so that they can make informed decisions: Our environmental dashboards help leaders track long-term trends against initiatives; Flosys shows an air traffic controller how their controlling decisions impacted the 3Di score for a flight, a traffic flow or for their sector; DesignAir instantaneously simulates the environmental impact of airspace changes during the early stages of the design process.

We are now on a journey to embed this ethos into all of our products and services, providing our customers with the tools and insights to understand their environmental impact and to make the right decisions at the right time. Sustainability needs to be placed front and centre for everyone in the industry if we are to ensure a safe future for aviation.
