Sven Halle

Regional Officer

Mr. Sven Halle is working in the ICAO European and North Atlantic Office in Paris, France. He joined ICAO in January 2010 and is Regional Officer, Air Navigation Systems Implementation (Air Traffic Management) with a focus on the support to the States in the Eastern part of the ICAO EUR Region, the implementation of the regional performance framework, the monitoring of Global Air Navigation Plan implementation, the integration of UAS-RPAS- Drones and new entrants, civil/military cooperation issues, crisis management and inter-regional coordination aspects. He is also an ICAO audit team member covering the scope of Air Navigation Services provisions and a qualified TRAINAIR Plus instructor.
Sven started to work as an Air Traffic Controller in 1984 with the Berlin Aeronautics Unit and after the German reunification joined the German Air Navigation Service Provider as an ATC-Expert.
In 1995 he moved to DFS (Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH) Headquarter in Frankfurt, Germany where he started to work in the Air Traffic Management Systems Domain and on Airborne Collision Avoidance Systems (ACAS). As head of the operational ATM-System unit, he became an active member of several international civil (ICAO, Eurocontrol) and also military (NATO) working groups.
In 2006 he was seconded to the European Commission DG TREN (Transport and Energy) Air Transport Directorate in Brussels, Belgium, where he was responsible for the development of Community Specifications, the support to Implementing Rules activities and the coordination of all standardisation/certification activities under the Single European Sky Regulations. Sven also holds a Master from PSDS in Stuttgart.
