Osman Saafan is Director Safety and Security and Director Civil Military Affairs at DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung. Before joining DFS in 1996, he fulfilled many operational roles and functions in the German Air Force, where he also gained operational experience as a tower and en-route controller at the EUROCONTROL Maastricht UAC before working in the German Ministry of Defence. Having gained more than 35 years of experience in civil and military aviation, Osman Saafan has held many leading roles in the air traffic management industry. At DFS, he was Head of Operations Management at the Area Control Centre and Tower Munich, Head of DFS Capacity Management, and Director of the Area Control Centre in Langen.
