Speaker Bio

Martin is a pilot, engineer, and project manager. Since 2013 an airline pilot at Swiss Airlines, of which 5 years as technical pilot. Simultaneously, he serves as reservist military helicopter pilot for the Swiss Air Force. In 2016, Martin co-founded SkyLab, a non-profit organization using flight platforms for research and development. Previously, Martin served as a research helicopter pilot at the German Aerospace Center DLR conducting scientific flight tests. From 2007 to 2012 he was senior project manager at Thales responsible for the delivery of 2 full-flight simulators to the Swiss Air Force. Holding a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from ETH Zurich, Martin has accumulated over 6,500 flying hours across 25 aircraft types.
