Event details

Today’s aerospace industry has grasped the challenge of protecting its physical infrastructures by guaranteeing their reliability and safety. When it comes to cybersecurity, we are facing an ecosystem, the complexity of which grows several times faster than a human career : meaning that in this field, across a span of 40 years, the technologies and design concepts in use will force the practitioners to re-learn what they are doing. This makes for the creation of technical debt, that is then leveraged by threat actors. The protection of IT infrastructures, Supply Chains and industrial environments (OT) is a major challenge, and at the same time the sector is subject to strong economic constraints.

For security practitioners, the goal is therefore to enable expansion of the scope they defend, while maintaining the costs reined in. Such an endeavour has been faced a few decades ago, when bringing in safety to the aerospace domain. It is now fully included, as a core requirement.

We need complementarity between Safety and Cybersecurity in order to reach resilience. Airbus Protect supports organisations in the aerospace industry to improve the resilience of their systems, and hence their operations. Our core expertise of safety, sustainability, and cybersecurity, as well as our aeronautical DNA, enable us to support our customers across the full spectrum of their activities: Safety of their operations, Security of their systems and Sustainability of their environment.

Our presentation is part of this dynamic, providing concrete answers to the question:

How can we anticipate cyber threats, defend ourselves continuously and respond effectively to minimize or prevent operations interruptions?
