Event details

The rising frequency and intensity of GNSS interference, including jamming and spoofing, have become critical threats to air communications, navigation and surveillance. For over three years, SeRo Systems has collaborated with Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) and spectrum regulators to deploy its advanced GNSS monitoring solutions for real-time interference detection and situational awareness across airspaces.

Using ADS-B data and GNSS frequency monitors, SeRo’s GRX receivers and SecureTrack technology deliver precise real-time detection and classification of GNSS jamming and spoofing incidents in the airspace. This session explores SeRo’s findings from continuous GNSS monitoring over airspace in Central Europe and the Baltics. With comprehensive monitoring data collected since 2022, this detailed analysis includes interference trends and patterns, highlighting the significant escalation in jamming and spoofing incidents observed over the past year. Since June 2023, our data indicate daily occurrences of GPS jamming, while spoofing activity has been recorded nearly every day since December 2023.

This presentation provides a roadmap for addressing GNSS interference through comprehensive monitoring solutions that strengthen operational readiness for ANSPs and other stakeholders. Attendees will also gain insights into an innovative method for jammer localization that leverages ADS-B observations to pinpoint interference sources, even in areas with limited air traffic. By sharing these findings, this presentation aims to enhance understanding and foster collaboration in addressing GNSS interference challenges in the global airspace.
