Andy Thurling

Co-Chair, HAPS Alliance Aviation Working Group

Andy Thurling is Principal at Thurling Aero Consulting where he represents Softbank on topics of High Altitude Platform Systems (HAPS) certification and airspace integration and HAPSMobile as the Co-Chair of the HAPS Alliance Aviation Working Group. He is also Vice President of Airspace Innovation at DroneUp where he leads the development and execution of airspace and UTM strategies; develops, influences, and shapes company and industry standards and policies to support UAS airspace innovation; and leads on the DroneUp’s path to commercial BVLOS at-scale. He was previously Chief Technology Officer at NUAIR and Director of Product Safety and Mission Assurance at AeroVironment. Andy is a Distinguished Graduate of the USAF Test Pilot School.
