Amanda Boekholt

Deputy Head of Section, Strategy and Innovation

Amanda is an experienced legal advisor and strategic leader specializing in drone regulations and innovation. Currently Deputy Head of the Strategy and Innovation Unit at the Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA), she leads the legal implementation of the U-space regulatory package in Switzerland. Her role also involves fostering partnerships within the UTM industry, facilitating collaboration and innovation to harmonize technological advancements with legal frameworks. Amanda’s commitment to advancing drone technology and regulation is further demonstrated through her active involvement in industry projects and associations, such as the Global UTM Association (GUTMA), where she serves as Treasurer. Additionally, Amanda plays a key role in the InterUSS Platform, guiding the adoption of tools and policies such as the automated test suite to promote cooperation among key drone stakeholders. Previously, Amanda served as Secretary General of the Swiss U-space Implementation (SUSI), where she coordinated initiatives to trial and implement U-space services in Switzerland.
