The speech explores the transformative role of Large Language Models (LLMs) in aviation domain. Due to their human level text understanding and generation capabilities, they can function as reasoning engines, self-deciding agents and human-machine interfaces on a variety of fields such as ATCo workflows, airline operations and U-space services. Beyond the mere integration of LLMs, an equally sophisticated surrounding tools of analysis, process and estimation amplify the impact of these applications. With function calling and retrieval augmentation, these models can both ingest relevant data and output informed answers/data for human or software consumption on run-time, elevating real-time aviation operations. The integration of LLMs as the core entity within an ecosystem of aerospace-centric utility modules, promises a feasible value creation in efficiency, safety and decision-making while also paving the way to practical autonomous aviation agents.
