Richard DERRETT-SMITH

Richard Derrett-Smith MEng(Hons), MSaRS, FIMechE, brings over 20 years of experience in aviation (primarily ATM) and nuclear industries. As a highly capable and flexible safety and reliability consultant, he possesses proven technical and management skills from various challenging and diverse technical and commercial roles across a broad spectrum of tasks and projects at individual project and programme level. Richard’s current professional focus is on the development of Egis’ Future Aviation and Advanced Air Mobility capabilities using Egis’ capabilities in digital twins and data analytics alongside our existing integrated risk management and operational expertise to deliver real value for clients in this fast-growing sector of aviation.

Lisa Bee

Lisa Bee brings over 30 years of experience in air traffic management to her position as Director of Air Traffic Services at Viasat, including over 20 years with the United States FAA in air traffic control, air traffic management, requirements & procedures development, test & evaluation, and safety management.

At Viasat, her work involves engagement with air traffic service providers, regulatory bodies, regional coordination groups, and industry organizations. Ms. Bee participates in a number of ICAO panels & working groups, including the Operational Data Link Working Group, the Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems Panel, and the Separation & Airspace Safety Panel. She also serves as Chair of the CANSO Data Link Implementation Task Force.

Aleksis Kajava

Aleksis Kajava is an experienced business leader in the aviation and weather industries. With a Master’s degree in Aeronautical engineering from Helsinki University of Technology, he has over 20 years of experience in management, business development and sales related to meteorology and aviation. Currently, Aleksis serves as Director for Europe and Latin America at Vaisala for the Meteorology, Aviation and Defense segments. In addition to his business leadership role he is also responsible for the global aviation segment strategy. Outside of work, Aleksis is also a private pilot.

Norbert Fuchs

Norbert Fuchs holds a degree in engineering and studied telecommunications in Berlin and Paris. He started his career at Siemens AG and later worked for Nokia Networks. He held several management roles in services, R&D and sales. Norbert has more than 20 years of experience in IP technology and related communication services. He worked on innovative IP solutions ranging from high-quality voice & video transport to IP service chaining, Internet of Things and Web3.0.
In his current role as Product Manager for ATC, he drives the conceptual work of ATC solutions with a focus on resiliency, security and service quality.

Anaella Lementec

Carey Fagan

Ms. Carey Fagan joined the Air Traffic Control Association (ATCA) as its CEO and President in October 2023. Prior to this appointment, Carey spent 33 years in public service with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Her tenure at the FAA concluded as the Air Traffic Organization’s Acting Deputy Chief Operating Officer. In that role, Carey was responsible to the Chief Operating Officer for ensuring safe, efficient, and secure air traffic services for approximately 50,000 aircraft operating every day over nearly 30 million square miles across the National Airspace System (NAS). She provided leadership and guidance to more than 31,000 employees and oversaw the daily operation of the ATO, an organization made up of air traffic controllers, technicians, engineers, pilots, and a host of other technical and support personnel. The ATO is also responsible for operationalizing airspace modernization initiatives and integrating unmanned aircraft systems and commercial space operations into the NAS.
Before this position, Carey served in various roles within the FAA’s Office of International Affairs including the Regional Director for the Asia Pacific Region and the FAA Executive Director of International Affairs. Eric Van Brunt

Eric Van Brunt is a Leidos Solution Architect for the Transportation Solutions division of Leidos. As a Leidos Solution Architect, Eric has led the development of Leidos solution architectures for FAA Nextgen programs like its most recent Terminal Flight Data Manager Program. In addition to development projects, Eric has led deployment of the Leidos solutions into operations for the FAA, including the En-Route Automation Modernization systems. Through his solution architecture role, Eric is applying the latest in digital modernization and cloud-based architectures to the ATM domain.

Jan Post

Jan Post is an aerospace engineer by trade who works at LVNL at Schiphol heading their innovation environment, iLabs. Jan has a specialty in Operations and graduated from Delft University of Technology with a thesis on reducing ATFM Delay at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol who has been working at LVNL since the start of 2023 in this role. iLabs is unique in its approach, being a collaboration between an ANSP and a university mainly working on open-source tooling, connecting academia to the industry. Since its inception in mid-2021 iLabs has already proven to be a success for the organisation by providing design support for the Dutch Airspace Redesign Programme.

Norazman Mahmud

Dato’ Captain Norazman Mahmud carries with him more than 30 years of experience in the aviation industry. His illustrious career includes flying multiple fleets of B737, B747 and A330 aircraft and was the first pilot in Malaysia to be rated on the A350 aircraft.
Captain Norazman first attained his pilot wings in 1990 and began his flying career with the country’s national carrier, Malaysia Airlines in 1991. He received training from the Civil Air Training Academy Australia and was later seconded to the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) in 2005. During his extensive career with Malaysia Airlines, he had served as an examiner for B737, A330 and A350 aircraft and Fleet Captain Wide Body. He was appointed as the Chief Pilot Fleet Operations of Flight Operations at Malaysia Airlines from 2017 to 2020 where he was responsible for leading the efficiency of line operations and contributed in enhancing the flight operations process via technology transformation.
Captain Norazman was previously the Director of Flight Operations of CAAM. In this position, he led the Division with four pillars of strategies, namely; Digital Transformation, Documentation, Training, and Collaboration to revolutionize CAAM in line with its vision to be the world’s leading aviation authority.
