Stephen Hanson

Stephen HANSON is a former Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) officer, who served for 32 years as an Air Traffic Control and Air Defence Controller. Stephen held multiple Air Traffic Control bilingual qualifications, to include both Tower and Radar positions. Additionally he held numerous Air Defence qualifications in NORAD, at National Air Defence Sites, Mobile Air Defence units, USAF AWACS, NATO AWACS, and US, Canadian and NATO Air Operations Centres. Specializing in joint airspace integration for civilian and military needs, Stephen has held positions in the Canadian Military Airworthiness Authority, as well as Chief of Operational Plans for the RCAF.

Presently, Stephen is a member of the NATO Headquarters International Staff, working on Aerospace Planning, Security, and Policy for the Armament and Aerospace Capabilities Directorate in the Defence Investment Division. His portfolio includes subjects as Higher-Level Airspace operations and New Entrants, regulatory understanding with regard to Civil and State Aviation Authorities, Space Support to Aviation, the NATO-EUROCONTROL Air Traffic Management Security Coordinating Group, the NATO Air Traffic Management/Communication Surveillance and Communication Advisory Group, supporting the Inclusion of Gender and Diversity into Defence Capability Development, and Cybersecurity, Cyber Defence, and Cyber Resilience in Aviation.

Stephen holds a Diplôme d’étude collégial in Science and Engineering from the Collège militaire royal de Saint-Jean (CMR), a Bachelor in Arts in Military and Strategic Studies (CMR), a Masters in American Public Administration from the University of Oklahoma, is a graduate of both the USAF Air Command & Staff College and USAF Air War College, and just started an Advanced Masters in Air and Space Law at Universiteit Leiden.

Claire Davies

Claire is Managing Director of the rapidly growing UK business of Egis – a global consulting, engineering and operations firm dedicated to building a more balanced, sustainable and resilient world. Previously, Claire led Egis’ aviation consulting business in the UK (formerly Helios) and spent over 15 years delivering management consultancy to clients across Europe. She specialised in business strategy, governance and procurement, applying this in the context of a rich understanding of the future scope, regulatory and policy aspects of aviation and other domains. Claire also has a PhD in analytical chemistry from the University of Bristol.

David Zwaaf

David Zwaaf joined LVNL in 2006 and build up 18 years’ experience in ATM design and development. Amongst these projects was the successful implementation of Airport CDM at Schiphol. He is currently Senior Capacity Management Expert. Since the implementation of Intelligent Approach, he is responsible for the benefit analyses of the RECAT-EU and Time Based Separation operation at Schiphol airport.

Arndt Schoenemann

Arndt Schoenemann joined the German Air Navigation Service Provider, DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH, in 2021 as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
He has more than 30 years of experience in the aerospace industry working in leading positions for Sell GmbH in Herborn, DASELL Cabin Interior GmbH in Hamburg, the German Aerospace Industries Association (BDLI) in Berlin and Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH in Lindenberg.
He currently is a Steering Committee member of the German Association of the Aviation Economy (BDL) as well as a member of several high-level consulting groups for European and national aviation authorities, such as EASA high level group on Ground Equipment Certification.
Before taking over his current position as CEO of DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung, he held the following functions:
 Vice President of the German Aerospace Industries Association (BDLI) and Chairman of the Section Equipment and Materials
 Member of the Board and Chairman of the Supply Chain Commission and SME Group of the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD)
 Chairman of the Board of Directors of Liebherr-LAMC Aviation (Changsha) Co. Ltd., Changsha, Hunan, China, a joint-venture between Liebherr-Aerospace and LAMC
 Member of the Shareholders‘ Committee of Aerospace Transmission Technologies (ATT), a joint company of Liebherr-Aerospace and Rolls-Royce

Vassilis Agouridas

Dr Vassilis AGOURIDAS is the Leader of the UIC2 (Urban Air Mobility Initiative Cities Community) established in October 2017 within the EU’s Smart Cities Marketplace. Since September 2022, UIC2 has been the UAM Thematic Cluster of the EUs CIVITAS Initiative. Vassilis has led the development, by UIC2, of the EU’s Urban Mobility Observatory publication on Urban Air Mobility and Sustainable Urban Mobility (SUMP-UAM, Practitioner Briefing). Vassilis is representing UIC2 as a Member of the recently formed Advanced Air Mobility Study Group by ICAO (the UN’s International Civil Aviation Organisation).
Dr Agouridas is Head of the EU Public Co-Creation & Ecosystem Outreach activities at AIRBUS (Urban Mobility). Vassilis has been with Airbus for 15 years, holding positions in Strategic Innovation and Corporate Development across Airbus’s Divisions. He is former Chairman of the UAM Committee of ASD Europe (the Aerospace, Security & Defence Industries Association of Europe) and has been external team leader for the European Commission’s Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for the topic/article of multilevel governance in EU’s drones regulatory framework (EU) 2021/664.

Lorenzo Murzilli

Lorenzo Murzilli is a highly accomplished aerospace engineer and aviation executive with
extensive experience in both traditional and emerging aviation. He is the co-founder and CEO
of Murzilli Consulting, a digital consulting agency specialising in aviation, where he
collaborates with aviation companies worldwide to turn disruptive changes into profitable
opportunities.

Lorenzo’s contribution to the development of the EU drone regulation through his
participation in the rulemaking task RMT.0230, the task force established by the European
Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to create the EU drone regulation, is considered crucial by
many. He is also known as the “father” of SORA, having played a significant role in its
development as the leader of the Joint Authorities for Rulemaking on Unmanned Systems
(JARUS) Working Group on Safety and Risk Management for over seven years.

In addition, Lorenzo has been actively involved in the development of U-space in Europe,
where he was a member of the European Commission’s U-space program team, providing
technical and regulatory guidance on implementing U-space in Europe. He contributed to
developing several U-space documents, including the U-space Blueprint, U-space Regulation,
and U-space Demonstrator projects, leveraging his role as Swiss U-Space (SUSI) Program
Manager.

Furthermore, Lorenzo was a founding member of the Global UTM Association
(GUTMA) and served on its executive board for several years as its Treasurer, working on the
development of UTM on an international level.

Lorenzo shares his vast knowledge as a guest lecturer at the Zürich University of Applied
Sciences (ZHAW) and mentor of students at Xihua University in Chengdu (China). He has
previously worked at Swiss FOCA, Leonardo, and Pilatus Aircraft, where he honed his ability
to innovate in safety-critical environments.

Through his impressive achievements and deep expertise in aviation, Lorenzo has developed
an extensive network of decision-makers across the industry. He is widely trusted by
regulators worldwide for his thought leadership, strategic insights, and ability to navigate
complex safety and regulatory issues. His ability to connect with and influence key players
has been crucial to his success in driving innovation and transforming disruptive changes
into profitable opportunities.

Juan M. Gomez

Juan M. Gomez, CEO is a seasoned airline executive with an extensive career in aviation spanning corporate finance, airport affairs, and Hub airport operations. Notably, he is not only a passionate aviator and pilot but also boasts extensive experience with renowned airlines like United, TWA, and ultimately American Airlines over a 20-year journey. His comprehensive understanding of the industry, from the executive floor to the tarmac, sets him apart. At Synaptic Aviation he is working with technologies like computer vision and AI to help airports, airlines, and service providers to transform ground operations.

Adam Stark

There he is responsible for A-CDM/Airside Optimizer with the Operations at Airports portfolio. Adam has worked with Airlines, Ground Handlers and ATC providers over many years and has a wide scope of Airport Operations knowledge that he can apply to customer processes and needs. With 12 years’ experience with a strong focus on Airside Operations including Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) leading into the world of Total Airport Management.

Brett Fujisaki

Brett is responsible for strategic planning and the customer experience for the company’s sales and business development organization. He spent the early part of his career supporting air traffic flow management (ATFM) operations for the Federal Aviation Administration at their Command Center. Later he transitioned to international markets with the Commercial Products group, at Metron Aviation. Prior to his sales role, Brett spent the previous decade traveling the globe working on ATFM Concept Development, implementing, and supporting operational ATFM systems and working directly with customers as a project manager & customer liaison. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from George Mason University.
