Vice-President (Air Traffic Control)

Mike Slack is the Vice-President (Air Traffic Control) for the New Zealand Airline Pilots’ Association. Mike is a currently an operational tower controller at New Zealand’s primary international port (Auckland International Airport NZAA) and has in excess of 28 years air traffic control experience. Mike has held elected positions within NZALPA (on both the ATC Council and Board of Management) for most of his years as an ATCO including at least 3 terms as VP ATC (formerly known as ATC Director). Mike is also an aviation fanatic having held a Private Pilot’s License since 17yrs of age and is currently Vice-President of the NZ Aerobatic Club operating and competitng in a high-performance competition aerobatic aircraft – Mike is a past national aerobatic champion.
