Senior International Representative

Biruk Abraham is a Senior International Representative with the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration’s Air Traffic Organization. In this role, he is responsible for collaboration on technical aspects of air traffic management with international partners in Africa, Europe, and Middle East. In a prior role, he served as a Branch Manager in the FAA’s NextGen Technology Development and Prototyping Division where he oversaw a portfolio of research and engineering projects that envision an Information-Centric National Airspace System. Biruk began his 20-year career in aviation by earning his Commercial Pilot and Flight Instructor certifications before joining the U.S. Army, where he served as a UH-60 Blackhawk Pilot for eight years. He holds a Master of Aeronautical Science degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
