The European Commission’s mobility and transport department (DG MOVE) is working towards making the European transport system more competitive, sustainable, and resilient, while serving the needs of citizens and businesses.

For ATM, the Single European Sky Regulation promotes more efficient flying by reducing fragmentation in the EU airspace. We have also initiated the SESAR project to address the technological challenges to modernise air traffic management.

The Commission is working on a new EU Aviation and Aeronautics Strategy that will boost the sectors’ competitiveness, resilience, and decarbonisation, while preserving Europe’s strategic autonomy and industrial leadership.
