Sabine Hornig is Director Political Affairs & Business Development at DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH. DFS is a company under private law that has formerly been organized as a public authority. Its sole shareholder is the Federal Republic of Germany. DFS is responsible for air traffic control in German airspace and at the 15 international airports in Germany.
Sabine Hornig is an expert on European Union (EU) aviation policy and the EU legislative process with more than 20 years of experience in her field of work.
She joined DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH in 2016 to represent DFS interests in Brussels and EU policy making. Since 2022 she is based at DFS Headquarters in Langen and as Director Political Affairs & Business Development responsible for the relations with national and international policy makers, institutions and industry stakeholders.
Having worked for IATA and the Lufthansa Group earlier in her career she is a bridge builder between the different parts of the aviation value chain and an advocate for the benefits of aviation and the interests of the whole aviation industry. Sabine is a qualified lawyer and was admitted to the bar in Germany in 2003.
