Markus Klopf is the Director of Product Strategy and International Affairs for the Air Traffic Management (ATM) Civil division at Frequentis. With over 25 years of global experience in the telecommunications and IT sector, Markus has been instrumental in shaping the strategic direction of the Frequentis ATM products and solutions. He actively participates in international organizations such as ICAO, CANSO, SESAR or ATCA, where he serves in various working groups and panels. Within CANSO, Markus serves on the SISC Steering Group, the ICAO working group and chairs the Strategic Technology Working Group.
Markus has significantly contributed to the growth of the Frequentis portfolio in ATM. He championed the creation of Frequentis’ drone strategy, facilitated the transition from research to products for Trajectory-based operations (TBO), and expanded the remote digital tower business. His commitment to making the world a better place is evident through his active promotion of green ATM solutions over the years.
Before joining Frequentis, Markus held various commercial and technical positions at the Swedish telecoms company Ericsson. He holds an engineering degree in telecommunications and a Master’s degree in Marketing and Sales from the University of Applied Sciences in Vienna, Austria. Outside of his professional life, Markus is a passionate tennis player, runner, cyclist, and a certified tennis chair umpire and referee.
