Athanassios Tziolas is the Head of Air Traffic and Airspace Management at European Union Aviation Safety Agency. Over more than two decades, he has actively contributed to a broad range of activities within the Agency, particularly in the areas of rulemaking, general aviation and implementation support to States. In his current role, he is responsible for leading the ATM and U-space activities aimed at developing the regulatory framework that enables the modernisation of the EU ATM system and supports the uptake of new technologies and innovative business concepts. A key part of his responsibilities, is the oversight of ANSP organisations of a pan-European nature, including those located in third countries providing services within the EU, as well as the oversight of Design and Production organisation of ATM/ANS equipment and the associated certification and declaration activities.
