CANSO’s Tomorrow’s Voices programme kicks off this week at Airspace World in Lisbon, bringing together aviation leaders and emerging professionals for a series of discussions and networking activities on Tuesday 26 and Thursday 28 May.
What’s Happening This Week
On Tuesday 26 May, the Tomorrow’s Voices panel takes place from 15:00–15:50 at the Integra Theatre. The session explores how organisations across the aviation ecosystem are addressing talent attraction, retention, and skills development. The panel, moderated by Angy Odysseos (CANSO), will feature insights from Benjamin Fichtner (IFATCA), Grzegorz Knast (PANSA Training Academy), Marina Morić (Croatia Control), Michael McCormick (Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University), Patricia Lopez de Frutos (CRIDA), and Sabína Dobiašová (Integra Consult A/S). Through real-world examples, speakers will share initiatives that are delivering results today, offering practical insights the audience can adapt to their own organisations.
The main event is then on Thursday 28 May, with the CEO and Young Professionals’ Breakfast (08:30–10:15) at the Feria Internacional de Lisboa Conference Centre. The morning begins with informal table conversations between young professionals and the participating CEOs, followed by a moderated panel discussion. This year’s breakfast is kindly sponsored by Tern Systems Hungary.
Participating CEOs include:
- Mark Cooper, President and CEO, NAV CANADA
- Monika Haselbacher, COO, Frequentis
- Dr. Rita Somogyi, Managing Director, Tern Systems Hungary
- Maartje van der Helm, General Manager Performance and Development, LVNL and Chair of the CANSO Operations Standing Committee
- Mario Kunovec-Varga, CEO, Croatia Control
Also on Thursday, the Interactive Exhibition Tour and Networking Game (11:00–12:30), organised and hosted by Engage2 and EUROAVIA, offers participants a guided exploration of the exhibition floor, with opportunities to engage with industry experts in cybersecurity, AI, UAS operations, and airspace management. The top two participants on the leaderboard will win travel grants to the Engage 2 Summer School in Trieste.
