Mike Hornby

NATS

Mike is the Airspace Concepts Manager for NATS and is responsible for their concept of operations around the future of Systemised Airspace in the UK as well as being technical/SME lead on several SESAR projects. He started his career with NATS as an air traffic controller in London Terminal Control, and has been the lead on many projects embracing ATM systems, controller workstation evolution and airspace design, as well as working closely with the CAA on developing policy around lateral and vertical separations for IFPs. He recently served as CANSO Ops Standing Committee Chair, and has represented NATS on various ICAO and Eurocontrol committees and groups.

When not working he is almost certainly preparing for some sort of sporting event, having completed numerous triathlons, cycle sportives, swimming and running events. At the moment he is training for the 2026 Etape du Tour!
