Speaker Bio

Samuel Hopko is the CEO and co-founder of Plectrum Engineering, a cloud engineering company focused on secure cloud foundations for regulated systems. He has more than 10 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps and technology leadership.
At Plectrum Engineering, Samuel focuses on cloud consultancy, architecture and delivery of multinational projects across Europe and Asia. His work often sits at the intersection of cloud engineering, security, operational reliability and business requirements, especially in environments where infrastructure decisions need to support trust, control and long-term operation.
Samuel’s background combines hands-on technical experience with consulting and leadership across startups, enterprises and multinational environments. His expertise includes AWS architecture, infrastructure automation, Kubernetes-based platforms, security-focused design, operational improvement and large-scale infrastructure transformation.
In addition to client work, Samuel is involved in mentoring and education through Plectrum’s internal training initiatives and long-term cooperation with the University of Žilina, where he helps bring practical cloud and modern engineering experience closer to students and early-career engineers.
