Giovanni Di Antonio

Director of Technological Innovation

Giovanni Di Antonio is an Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineer with over 25 years of experience in the defence and aerospace sectors. He currently serves as Director of Technological Innovation at ENAC, the Italian Civil Aviation Authority.
He is responsible for the development of national regulations for spaceports and the integration of suborbital operations, and supports the establishment of the Italian spaceport at Taranto-Grottaglie Airport.
Giovanni has extensive expertise in airworthiness and emerging aviation domains, including Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), Higher Airspace Operations (HAO), and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM).
He is the Solution Leader of the SESAR ECHO 2 Project, coordinating the validation of future procedures for integration of supersonic, hypersonic, and suborbital flights into the European ATM system. He previously chaired the EASA HAO Task Force and served two terms as Chair of JARUS, contributing to international regulatory cooperation in unmanned aviation.
