Speaker Bio

Andy Thurling is Principal at Thurling Aero Consulting where he represents Softbank on topics of High Altitude Platform Systems (HAPS) certification and airspace integration and as the Co-Chair of the HAPS Alliance Aviation Working Group. He is also Vice President of Airspace Innovation at DroneUp where he leads the development and execution of airspace and UTM strategies; develops, influences, and shapes company and industry standards and policies to support UAS airspace innovation; and leads on the DroneUp’s path to commercial BVLOS at-scale. He was previously Chief Technology Officer at NUAIR and Director of Product Safety and Mission Assurance at AeroVironment. Andy is a Distinguished Graduate of the USAF Test Pilot School.
