ATM Expert

Olivia has been an aviation professional for over thirty years. She holds a degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Barcelona and an MSc degree in Aeronautics with specialisation in Air Traffic Management from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University; she also trained as a private pilot in the US. Olivia obtained her Air Traffic Control Licence with tower, en-route and approach ratings from the Spanish Civil Aviation Authority in 1991, and worked in the ATC centres of Barcelona and Madrid for twenty years, first as an operational radar controller in both en-route and approach, and later as an operational supervisor in Madrid TMA. In 2012, she moved to the R&D domain, where she is an operational expert in the SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking, the secretariat of SESAR, the Digital European Sky ATM R&D programme. Her focus areas include Environment, U-space and IFR RPAS, Trajectory Based Operations (TBO), Virtual Centre and Increased Flexibility in ATCO Validations (IFAV).
