Fethi Abdelmoula obtained his Diploma in Aerospace Engineering from the Technical University of Braunschweig in 1995, where he also received his PhD in flight guidance and measurement technology in the 2000. Since 2012 he works as a research scientist at DLR Institute of Flight Systems, where he is team leader of the Procedures group in the department of Flight Dynamics and Simulation. In numerous internal and external projects, he has been involved in flight procedures as well as in the development of new pilot assistance systems. He currently leads various projects for the further development and testing of low-noise and energy-saving approach and departure procedures. From 2001 to 2012, he worked as a development engineer and project manager at Aerodata AG in Braunschweig.
