Iris: The Next-Generation Global Safety Datalink for Smarter Skies

When

14/05

1:00pm – 1:50pm

Location

Viasat Theatre

Event details

Join Viasat and a panel of distinguished experts for a thought-provoking discussion on the importance of adopting Iris satcom datalink for the modernization of global Air Traffic Management (ATM).

As many regions around the world strive to implement Trajectory-Based Operations (TBO), a key requirement is the need for enhanced datalink for safety communications and global interoperability. This will enable the full potential of these concepts to be realized.

The panel will discuss the benefits of a data-rich air traffic environment capable of supporting air traffic growth, while at the same time delivering significant fuel and CO2 savings through more efficient airspace utilization.

Iris, which supports ATN/OSI and will support ATN/IPS, is already in use in Europe and is designed to be globally scalable, providing critical connectivity between flight deck avionics and ground-based air traffic systems.

Iris is available on major aircraft from leading manufacturers, and it offers scalability, robust cybersecurity, and global coverage through Viasat’s L-band satellite network.
