Delivering a sustainable future

Session Overview

Sustainability and the digital transformation of aviation are the two most significant trends facing air navigation services today. These do not present a technology challenge as much as an organizational and cultural challenge, with implications for leadership and change management; workforce planning, recruitment and training; data management and cybersecurity; partnerships, investments, and procurement; interoperability, standard-setting, and regulation, to name a few. Most significantly, it calls for a different way of working, by adopting more agile and lean practices that reduce risk, uncertainty and cost; favour experimentation over elaborate planning; value customer feedback over intuition; and embrace iterative design over traditional “big design up front” development. This has already shown to be true with the arrival of new entrants in the airspace and the development of UTM. For this panel, learn how this “clash of cultures” can help build more robust and resilient organizations in the provision of air navigation services.
