Delivering a sustainable future

Session Overview

Trajectory Based Operations (TBO) is fundamental to realizing the ICAO Global Air Traffic Management Operational Concept (GATMOC, ICAO Doc 9854) that improves safety, operational economics, environmental sustainability, and national security. TBO affects many processes, procedures and information flows that are being reflected in ICAO provisions and standards. And in fact, TBO is the operational object of several large-scale national and regional development and implementation programs (e.g., NextGen and SESAR). For TBO to succeed, it is critical that TBO is developed and deployed in a globally harmonized manner. The implementation of System Wide Information Management (SWIM) and Flight and Flow Information for a Collaborative Environment (FF-ICE) are key enablers for a harmonized TBO implementation.

This presentation shares Boeing’s contribution on procedure elaboration, technology validation, and concept demonstration to support ICAO standards.
