Born in an Afghan refugee camp and raised in the USA, Shaesta is the first female certified pilot from Afghanistan and the youngest woman to circumnavigate the globe.
She set up her US-based charity, Dreams Soar, to encourage others, particularly women, to follow their dreams and promotes the importance of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education and research.
Shaesta will talk about what motivated her to become an aviator, and tell the story of her inspirational journey around the world. She will also set out what skills might be needed from our future workforce, and how we can work together to encourage the next generation of talent to join our industry.
