Session Overview

Pilots flying at low level (below 1000’ AGL) outside controlled airspace operate in a potentially hazardous, high risk aviation environment that lies beyond the boundaries of air traffic control.

A new tool developed by Aeropath, New Zealand's aeronautical information service managed by Airways International, in collaboration with the Royal New Zealand Air Force is now giving pilots operating at low levels outside of controlled airspace the information they need to keep themselves and other low level airspace users safe. Flight Advisor vastly improves situational awareness for operators planning low level flights - an environment where users traditionally don’t have access to rich information.

In this session, Aeropath Manager Aeronautical Information Management, Matt Day will share insights into the development and use of Flight Advisor which utilises Aeropath's data integration and visualisation capabilities, and how the tool is enhancing safety for New Zealand military and civilian airspace users.
