Delivering future operations
Air-ground data link is a key air traffic management technology enabler for communication efficiencies, delivering more efficient routes, enhancing safety, and lays the foundation for trajectory-based operations. Successful implementation of data link services requires significant collaboration between multiple stakeholders. The benefits delivered by the FAA Data Comm program in the United States would not have been possible without the partnership and collaboration of the Data Comm Implementation Team (DCIT) members. The DCIT is an excellent example of system stakeholder collaboration from across the global aviation industry including aircraft operators, aircraft manufactures, dispatchers, controllers, pilots, and aviation industry groups. As similar projects are planned across the globe, the audience will gain insight from lessons learned as to how future projects can be executed even more successfully.
